As a retired military wife of 20 years I fully understand how stressful a move can be. I have been a licensed Realtor since 1989 because of bad real estate transaction I found myself in. We were transferred from Fort Eustis, VA to Fort Riley, KS the the late 80's. We fond a house on 5 acres between Fort Riley and Manhattan and wrote an offer which the seller accepted. After a week I decided to take another look at the house and found that the seller concealed holes in the floors with furniture and rugs. Seller declined making repairs and I refused to close. My Realtor was no help and I hired an attorney. We ended up in court and the judge ruled against me and ordered me to pay $4,000 toward sellers moving costs. The judge later said he had no other choice because there were no laws to protect a real estate buyer. That is why I became a Realtor to make sure nothing like this would every happen to my clients! Today we have seller disclosures and buyer's agency representatives.
In 1993 we moved to beautiful Northwest Arkansas. My husband a 1974 West Point graduate and live in Fayetteville. We have four grandchildren, two dogs and two cats. We also been USAA members for 42 years and I am a trained USAA relocation specialist. I will work diligently for every military member and nonmembers alike because a home is were the heart is.
