Meiling Lee Kravarik is an American Success Story!
Meiling came to this country from Hong Kong at the age of seven with her parents, younger brother and sister in 1969. At first, the family lived in New York City's Chinatown with relatives who owned a restaurant where they all worked and saved for the future.
They soon bought a restaurant in suburban New Jersey. Since they were no longer among Chinese speaking people, Meiling was called upon to translate all business transactions between her parents, the local suppliers and customers.
At the age of ten, Meiling became astute in business matters. Learning from her parents, she quickly became capable of handling anything that came up in the restaurant. Fittingly, the restaurant was named after her, "Meiling's Shanghai Restaurant".
By the end of her high school years, Meiling was ready for Cornell University, where she majored in Hotel/Business Management. She secured a management position at Omni Hotels Corp. in the marketing division in Boston and later transferred to Madison Avenue in New York City.
Meiling's parents' interest in buying investment properties soon led her to acquire her own real estate license. She became a multi-million dollar producer within the first year of her career. During this time, Meiling's Shanghai Restaurant was in need of a serious overhaul. While Meiling was involved in buying up neighborhood properties to expand the original restaurant, she also helped in redesigning the floor plan of the 100 plus year old building to include retail and office space along with securing an office for herself.
In 1989, at the age of 27, Meiling formed her own company M-3 Realty, Inc. Shortly after, her husband, Martin, had gone back to school to earn his Engineering Degree, making her the only income producer. Embracing and rising to the challenge was the only direction to be considered.
In 1994, the old biological clock was ticking and the New Year needed a new challenge; a beautiful daughter, Morgan Mei, was born in January 1995. Meiling had officially joined the ranks of the working Mom and all the challenges that it brought.
In 1999, M-3 Realty had celebrated its 10th Anniversary; growing from a 1 person operation to over 20. This led to another challenge, the undertaking of financial backing, acquiring land and building an office building. Meiling appointed herself as assistant to the general contractor; wearing jeans and boots part of the day and switching into a suit and heels for the remainder. M-3 Realty moved into its new home in January of 2000.
In April 2011, Meiling decided to take her business to the next level and align herself with a national franchise company called Nextage Realty International; M-3 Realty Inc. officially changed its name to Nextage M3 Realty.
In August 2014, the Plainsboro office moved to a larger office building in Kendall Park, NJ.
In Nov 2018 Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC has announced that Nextage M3 Realty, a residential real estate brokerage firm with offices in Edison and South Brunswick, is the newest member of its franchise network.
