    1. MLK Day Celebration

The University of Kentucky and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government invites you to join them on January 20, 2020 at Heritage Hall in the Lexington Convention Center for this free event celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event kicks off with a public Freedom March at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Commemorative Holiday Program in Heritage Hall at 11:00 a.m where Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock, the Senior Pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, spiritual home of Martin Luther King, Jr., will be the keynote speaker. Following Rev. Dr. Warnock’s address, singer/composer DONNIE will perform. He was nurtured artistically in the same musical tradition that gave rise to such singers as India Arie, Anthony David, D’Angelo and other artists often characterized as “Neo-Soul”. Later that day at 2:30pm, the Kentucky Theatre will have a free showing of the Academy Award-winning film, Green Book

If you have guests, this is your chance to get them to join the Big Blue Nation and root for the Wildcats. Kentucky’s got a pretty solid-looking team this year, and they should easily make it into the March Madness tournament if they keep it up. This is their chance to prove that they’re better than their early season losses, that they’ve practiced together, and that they’re ready to be the #1 team they were originally slotted as. A win here could be big.
