    “Muchas Culturas … Una Ciudad. Many Cultures … One City.”

    This is how Lexington Councilwoman Jennifer Reynolds described Lexington in a presentation to FLACA, the Foundation for Latin American and Latin Culture and Arts, on the upcoming Festival Latino de Lexington.

    “Latin Americans enrich our community through contributions in education, medicine, business, law, sports, religion, science, entertainment, and the arts,” the proclamation, which Councilwoman Reynolds offered to FLACA, states.


    The Festival Latino de Lexington is the largest Latino heritage event in Kentucky. Sponsored by the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Department of Parks and Recreation and FLACA, the Festival aims to “to promote, foster, and preserve the culture, traditions, and languages of our Latino and Latin American heritage.” 

    This will be the 18th year of Lexington celebrating Hispanic Heritage month downtown on the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Come celebrate Latino culture with this three-day festival highlighting Latin American music, arts and authentic cuisine. Friday night is tropical night, and will include authentic Latin foods, live music and dancing.On Sunday from 1-5 p.m., there will be a health fair from 1-5 p.m. at Masterson Station Park. All are welcome!
