    Real Estate Community Connection

    Steadfast Since 1976

resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.

    "steadfast loyalty"

My father, Rex Jackson, got into the real estate business when most were getting out of the business. He began at a time when interest rates were 18-21% or more. Everyone was asking him why he would get into this business at a time like this.

My dad didn’t fear what might happen, he just started working. He continued that path and grew a business that served the community of Walker County and surrounding areas for many years.

Jackson Realty continued through many difficult and stressful markets and remained steadfast. My husband and I came back home to LaFayette to take over the business in 1995. I was Managing Broker and Oliver was a Realtor starting to build a business for himself.

During the time since 1995, we have experienced fluctuating interest rates, the horrific 9/11 attacks on American followed by the collapse of the financial and real estate markets of 2008. We have had many ups and downs in our market nationally and locally since we took over in 1995. There have been many times over the years that we wanted to say, we are done! I am sure I am like many owner/operators that get frustrated with the ever-changing markets and the responsibilities we feel for the consumers our agents and staff. And just recently, we were ready to be done, again.

When things turned upside down in the last couple of weeks with the introduction and spread of the Corona Virus, we jumped in full force. This is because our community and our agents/staff need us more than ever. This will cause many companies and agents to get out of the business. So many businesses, individuals and groups will find themselves in a hard place. While many may not be able to financially sustain themselves, we will not leave anyone hanging that needs our service as long as we can manage it. We are tightening our business, working from home, isolating as much as possible, but we are still in touch throughout the day on our markets.

Before this outbreak of the virus, I thought I would slow down, but now more than ever, I want to give it all I have got to serve our community during this tragic time in our world.

It may not be easy, it may be with new restrictions and guidelines, but Jackson Realty has served our communities for over 42+ consecutive years and we don’t plan on giving up now! We will work through this and help everyone that we can whether they need to sell, buy or rent. We will remain steadfast in this ever-changing world.

When times get hard, we do it anyway. And we love our neighbors as ourselves.

Mark 12:30-31 New International Version (NIV)

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.

Let’s be strong, steadfast and make it to the other side, one day at a time.
