As the county seat of Montgomery County, Maryland, Rockville is one of the most populated cities in Maryland. Less than an hour from Washington, D.C., Rockville’s Interstate I-270 corridor is home to a thriving biomedical and technology industry as well as several government institutions. Voted by Money magazine as the “#1 Best Place to Live” in 2018, Rockville is a highly-educated, diverse community that strives to offer “citizen-centric public service” to its residents.

With a rapidly growing population, Rockville offers an abundance of public transportation options with 27 stops in Montgomery County along the Washington Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metrorail (Metro). The area is also served by the Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) train and Amtrak. Additionally, the county is in the process of developing a local Bus Rapid Transit System called Flash, with plans to open in 2020. The route will run along U.S. 29 from Burtonsville, Maryland to Silver Spring Maryland.

Housing in Rockville ranges from single family homes and townhomes to low- and high-rise condos. The area’s West End neighborhood offers historic homes for sale within its historic district. The district is governed by the Historic District Commission which assesses the historical value of properties within its boundaries. The neighborhood offers a wide range of property types and architectural styles, including Victorian, Foursquare, and Minimal Tradition houses.
