Haley Blount, Ed.D., is currently an Assistant Professor of Health & Human Performance at Northwestern State University, with a vast background of experience working in the higher education setting. She is also a realtor with our Natchitoches office, licensed since the Fall of 2021. Dr. Blount just completed her first full year as a real estate agent, closing nearly $4 million in sales, earning her first Top Producer award, and assisting 12 families in buying and/or selling their homes. She has an extensive array of experience in relationship building, marketing, sales, and sport management. Her 20+ years as a resident of Natchitoches have served her well as a real estate agent. Dr. Blount earned her B.S. in Health & Exercise Science from Northwestern State in 2006, her M.S. in Sports Administration in 2007, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana Tech in 2016. Prior to transitioning to being a full-time professor, Dr. Blount served as the Deputy Athletic Director and executive director of the Demons Unlimited Foundation until September 2021. In both roles, she solicited funds for the Alumni Association and Demons Unlimited Foundation, managed corporate partnerships, planned and coordinated alumni & athletic events, and oversaw all external areas of influence including marketing, tickets, social media pages, media relations, development, and facilities. Dr. Blount was a four-year competitor and former school record holder as a pole vaulter for the Lady Demons. She did an internship with USA Track & Field in 2007, serving as assistant producer of the AT&T USA Outdoor Championships in Indianapolis, and she also assisted with operations at the 2008 USA Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Dr. Blount is actively engaged in community service, having served as a board member for the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce and co-chair of the A+ Coalition. She is a member of the Natchitoches Young Professionals (past president), as well as the past president of the Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches and past president of Les Amies Service Organization. She's also a member of the National Association of Kinesiology in Higher Education, and a recent graduate of the Leadership Natchitoches program. She is passionate about her family, her friends, her fur babies, her students, her clients, and helping others achieve their goals and dreams.
