Ronald Gamage
As a native of MidCoast Maine, with roots in a respected shipbuilding family, I have spent my life deeply connected to this community. After graduating from Rockland District High School in 1975, I began my career in retail at a local supermarket. Shortly thereafter, I became a licensed real estate agent, dedicating 14 years to helping families find their homes. One memorable project involved selling a building that became the neighborhood convenience store along the St. George River in Thomaston. I had the pleasure of representing this property through multiple ownership transitions. During one sale, an owner I represented called to say they were moving out of state and wanted me to list the store. I jokingly suggested that I should buy it myself—and that joke soon became a reality. My family and I proudly owned and operated Waterfront Market for 14 years, building lasting friendships and memories along the way. As fate would have it, our store was located adjacent to the bridge crossing the St. George River into Cushing. When the State of Maine replaced the bridge with a wider, updated structure, the property was taken and ultimately torn down to make room for the new construction, bringing Waterfront Market’s history to a close. After selling the store, I joined Hall Funeral Home at its Thomaston office, where I spent 12 years serving families during their times of need. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in compassion, empathy, and service. Always feeling called back to real estate, I reactivated my broker’s license and joined Better Homes and Gardens – The Masiello Group as a broker in the Rockland office. Family is my greatest pride. My wife and I share a close bond with our daughter, Krystal, a dedicated high school teacher. We are also devoted animal lovers—Krystal has two Golden Retrievers, Cooper and Charlie, and we share our Thomaston home with our own four-legged family members, Abby and Gracie. Community service is very important to me. Over the years, I have served on numerous boards and committees in Thomaston. I currently serve on the Board of Assessors, the Budget Committee, and the Cemetery Board of Trustees. I am also a proud member of the Orient Lodge of Masons and the American Legion, honoring my father, a World War II veteran. In addition, I serve as Treasurer of the Thomaston Historical Society. In my real estate practice, I am deeply committed to my clients and always focus on solutions rather than problems. My strong local knowledge and long-standing community relationships allow me to guide new homeowners as they navigate the process of becoming part of this area. As the saying goes, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” I stay informed on market trends and industry issues so I can provide thoughtful, up-to-date guidance to both buyers and sellers. I look forward to putting my experience, integrity, and local insight to work for you as we find the right property together.
