Doug Fuller
As the Broker and Co-Owner of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate First Choice, my wife Jeri and I both have over 20 years of Real Estate experience. We’re the 3 rd owners of our Real Estate Company that was founded in 1958 by Alden Kittleson. Originally Kittleson Real Estate and then Kittleson Realty World, merged with Tom Sykora in 1982 and became First Realty Better Homes and Gardens. In roughly 1998, BHG decided to get out of the Real Estate franchise business and sold to GMAC and we became First Realty GMAC. In 2006, Doug and Jeri Fuller acquired First Realty GMAC from Tom Sykora and then In 2008 during the Great Recession, GMAC decided to get out of the Real Estate franchising as well and we became Real Living First Realty. In 2022, it was decided by our parent company that owned the Real Living franchise Birkshire Hathaway that the Real Living brand would be shut down. We are thrilled to be back with the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate family.
My background is that I grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Hopkins High School in 1986. I moved to Bemidji to attend BSU in 1987 and purchased my first home in 1990. I joined the Bemidji Fire Dept as a Volunteer Fireman in 1992 and have served in many different roles. I served as a Captain for over 20 years, Vice President and Secretary of the Relief Association and helped start the Honor Guard. In 1998, I was elected to the Minnesota Legislature and served six years as the State Representative for the Bemidji area. Prior to Politics, I was a District Manager for the American Cancer Society and going way back, I bartended back at the Holiday Inn and Northern Inn. Jeri and I had our daughter Lexi on January 12 th , 2011. My favorite things to do are Curling, Tennis, Fishing, Golf (It’s been a while), I love watching sports especially our daughter’s hockey games and traveling especially cruising.
