Nicole is a North Dakota native, born and raised in Fargo. She earned her BS in Hospitality/Tourism Management from North Dakota State University and began her career at the Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau in tourism and marketing. As Director of Marketing, she led the launch of 'North of Normal' to help promote the unique assets in Fargo-Moorhead to visitors and residents alike. Through that role, she gained immense knowledge about what makes Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding areas such a special place. One of her favorite aspects of that role was to host travel writers. While showing off the city she so fondly loves and calls home this also allowed her to view the FM community through the eyes of a visitor.
In 2017, Nicole circled back to her Bison roots to join the team at the NDSU Foundation as the Senior Director of Events and Programs. During those past six years, she built enduring relationships to maximize philanthropy for NDSU. Through her work, she helped plan and execute over 40 events a year all over the country for NDSU alumni and friends. She will forever be grateful for the opportunity to create memories and make life-long connections for Bison Nation.
Nicole’s passion for home ownership began in 2011 when she purchased her first (and forever) home with her husband, Seth. While working with Park Company, they found a historic home in the heart of Downtown Fargo. They spent the next 10 years renovating their 1918, American four-square house into a place they proudly call HOME. Doing most of the work themselves, they added an additional 1200 sq ft of living space with a dream kitchen, lower-level family room, and 2 stall-garage with a fully finished music studio above. It was the restoration of their own home that led Nicole to finally pursue a career in Real Estate. In July of 2024, Nicole was appointed by Mayor Mahoney to serve of the Historic Preservation Committee.
Nicole’s husband Seth is a former home inspector and the owner and operator of Holden Restoration & Remodel [https://www.facebook.com/HoldenRestoration]. They have two young children, Miles and Oscar, and a husky named Ramsey. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, listening to live music, watching hockey, hosting gatherings and dinner parties, spending time at their lake, and dreaming up the next big project.
