Born in Omaha, Nebraska, and growing up in Sioux City, Iowa, Richmond eventually moved to Maryland for school and now has called the Fargo-Moorhead area home for the past five years. Richmond Ayi has moved more times than most people do in a lifetime. He knows what it feels like to land somewhere new while figuring it all out at once: the neighborhoods, the schools, where to eat, who to trust. He also knows how much lighter that feels when somebody is in your corner.
Richmond earned his degree in financial economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he took real estate and marketing coursework and studied how housing policy and HOAs actually function. An internship managing short- and long-term rental properties taught him the practical side: what a strong listing looks like, how pricing really works, and how much emotion sits underneath every housing decision. He is also IRS VITA certified, which means the financial details most people would rather not read alone do not intimidate him. Richmond helps clients understand the numbers behind a decision beyond just the emotion of it and is comfortable walking through financing scenarios and long-term value with people who want to see the math before they sign.
He works with buyers and sellers of all kinds, including first-time buyers, growing families moving up, people looking to downsize, new construction, investors, and those relocating from out of state or abroad. Along with English, Richmond also speaks Twi, Ga, and some French, and he takes particular care with clients navigating a new city, a new market, and even a new language at the same time.
Away from real estate, Richmond is a man of faith who looks for ways to serve. He is an athlete who still plays and trains, and staying fit means he has strong opinions about food. Ask him where to find the best barbecue, burgers, or wings in Fargo-Moorhead, and you will get a real answer.
His goal for every client is simple. When it’s over, it should feel less like you hired an agent and more like family helped you move....
