My family and closest friends call me Scooter. I spent my formative years teaching secondary school, raising my children, volunteering, and later caring for 3 aged parents. In 2001, I had to add my mothers presence to the Paw-Paw so many old friends and students remember so well. In 2002, Paw-Paw left us older, wiser, and greatly entertained. In 2006, Mother succumbed to her long term illness after six long months in Greenwoods incredible Hospice House. The 1.5 hour trip to check on her was extremely hard on my family, but caused us all to bend and not to break. I became like the famous tree in a storm. My patience and tolerance, not to mention my stamina and negotiating skills, grew as much with my octogenarians as they did during my combined years with my beloved children and my adored students in NC, GA, TX, and several SC locations. I learned from every experience and, hopefully, from every mistake. I find that I have become as attached to my clients as I inevitably did to my students and family. Since I was really selling education for so many years, the new career I have chosen fits nicely with my experience and my love of adventure. Quite frankly now, just as before...
