Fishing Access: Hong Kong Bend is one of the longest fishable gravel bars located on the Kasilof River with sockeye, coho, native kings, pink salmon, steelhead, rainbow, dolly varden and whitefish. The annual sockeye run averages around 1 million each year. The Kasilof River is also coveted for coho in the fall and steelhead in the spring and fall. Rainbow and dolly varden remain year-around while whitefish spawn in the river in the early summer.
This location offers unparallelled recreational opportunities. The property backs up to endless acres of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and one can snowmachine from the Horse Trail parking area on Yukon Road all the way into the property on an existing trail in the wintertime (3.5 miles). Easy hunting access to Tustumena lake for moose where multiple moose are taken every year by boat or camp. A Bull Moose was taken right in the yard in 2024. Cow and calf moose are regular visitors to the property and along the river and frequently cross right at the house. Multiple bald eagles live and nest on Hong Kong Bend.
