Derek just stepped out to grab a coffee from our favorite spot up the road. The world was so calm. I was soaking up the peace and quiet as I watched the sun come up over the lake. It was nice, I got lost in that spot where the tops of our trees ended and the shore of the lake began. It wasn't hard anymore, but leaving the place we called home for so many years and trading it for this was worth it. We have everything we need here. Close to civilization, but in our own little retreat - it's almost as if no one knows we exist here, we can escape it all. I don't know what took us so long to make the decision, but once we did we knew this place was it. The sun started hitting my face. I had a book on my lap as if I intended to read, but I knew I wasn't. Stop and breathe in this morning, I know that's what always happened.
