It was, and still is a part of the culture. Most often they would give to this purpose the prettiest spot on the whole farm, under the biggest and most beautiful tree. The driveway to it and a 10ft. perimeter around it is an easement on the property. The cemetery is in a flat area, set back on an ample flat field that's even with the road so there is quite a bit of field between it and the road. There is also quite a bit of additional hilly land behind the cemetery that reaches to the top of the property where the pond is. All of the property, except for the cemetery and the ROW can be used for used for any purpose you may have in mind.
