I’m Doug Berry, MBA — The Bow Tie Realtor® — a REALTOR® with Better Homes & Gardens Senter serving Abilene and the surrounding Big Country. I bring together experience in mortgage lending, marketing, and real estate to guide clients clearly and confidently through the buying and selling process.
A lifelong Texan, I’ve called Abilene home for nearly 40 years . Many long-time locals know my family from Berry’s Tires on North Treadaway, where I learned early the West Texas values of hard work, honesty, and treating people right. Those lessons still shape everything I do in real estate.
Before earning my real estate license, I worked as a lender with USDA Rural Development’s mortgage program , gaining firsthand insight into underwriting, government-backed loans, and what buyers truly need to become mortgage-ready. That lender-side perspective allows me to walk clients through the process with clarity — especially first-time buyers and USDA borrowers.
My professional background also includes entrepreneurship here in Abilene. I owned Doug’s Hubcaps , operating inside my family’s business, and later opened Fantasy World Arcade , a nostalgic nickel arcade beloved by fans of classic 80s and 90s video games. Both ventures strengthened my commitment to customer service and to building long-lasting relationships — qualities at the heart of my real estate practice.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from Angelo State University and a Master of Business Administration, with a Marketing concentration, from the University of Dallas.
