Gwen Gates
Hi, I am Gwen Gates and am a native Houstonian and a 25-year resident of Clear Lake. My husband Doug and I have two children, a daughter who is a student at Texas A&M University in Galveston, and a son who is a student at Blinn College in Brenham. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 1981 with a BBA in Marketing and from the University of Houston in 1988 with an MBA. Previously, I worked as a management consultant for one of the Big Six accounting firms and in several positions for oil and gas companies. I also served on the boards of several non-profit organizations and my church. When I am not busy with family and work, I enjoy researching my family genealogy where I have traced my ancestors back to the Revolutionary War and prior to that, to their migration from England, Ireland and Austria. I also discovered that my husband is a descendant of two of the Old 300, the three hundred original families who came to Texas with Stephen F. Austin.
