Behind a century-old brick facade on Potrero Hill, 312 Connecticut Street is one of the most singular properties in San Francisco. Built as the Alta Theater, a mom-and-pop run silent film house, it was upgraded for sound and renamed the New Potrero Theatre around 1930. In the late 60s it became a rehearsal studio for the Grateful Dead, and in 1973 it appeared in the television series The Streets of San Francisco. It later became the home of the Lighthouse Church, and more recently a gathering place for the non-profit Gurdjieff Society. Each chapter left its mark, and today the building offers over 9,900 square feet (per SF Assessor) of rare, adaptable living space, with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and city skyline views.
